Jennifer Clifton is the founder of Clifton Cannabis Law, LLC. Jennifer is a skilled corporate lawyer with the heart of an entrepreneur. Her career spans several industries and includes working for national law firms, serving as in-house counsel and nearly a decade of tax law, representing clients before the IRS. She has started two businesses of her own, one of which attracted attention from Oprah Winfrey, USA Today, People Magazine and The New York Times.

Jennifer’s background as an entrepreneur combined with her vast legal experience in corporate transactional law, securities law and tax law, uniquely position her as an invaluable resource to any entrepreneur. For a number of years, Jennifer has advised and represented entrepreneurs at all stages of their journey and has particularly enjoyed her Cannabis-business clients.

Jeremy Dickman

Jeremy Dickman is an Oregon attorney with nearly 12 years experience. Graduating in 2005 from the University of Oregon School of Law, Jeremy represented indigent criminal defendants in Colorado and Oregon while still a law student.  He received the University of Oregon law school’s annual pro bono award in 2005 for his service to the community.  After law school, Jeremy spent over a decade representing small businesses and individuals before the IRS, handling tax matters, including settlements and penalty abatements.

Jeremy combines a passion for advocating on behalf of small business and disadvantaged citizens with a strong work ethic and an excellent grasp of legal concepts.  His work as a tax attorney saved clients millions in tax dollars during his career.  He has held a license in good standing with the Oregon Bar since 2005.

Prior to entering law school, Jeremy obtained a Bachelor of Science in journalism at the University of Oregon, and worked as a copy editor at the The Bulletin newspaper in Bend. He also free-lanced as a movie reviewer for The Source newspaper in Bend, and covered small-town politics for a weekly paper in Junction City, Oregon.  Jeremy comes from a small-business owning family in a rural community, and has first-hand experience with the labor of love and sacrifice involved in getting a new venture off the ground.

Jeremy lives in Bend with his 5 year-old-son, Gavin, and his 7-year-old Chocolate lab, Gary.

Liane Inkster, Clifton Cannabis Law

Liane Inkster

Liane Inkster joined Clifton Cannabis Law as of counsel.  Liane’s experience in criminal law and with real estate are valuable assets to Clifton Cannabis Law.  Moreover, Liane is based in Eugene and serves clients in Lane County.

After graduating from the University of Oregon School of Law in 1995 with an emphasis in criminal law, Liane spent the next 9 years working as a prosecutor where she handled cases of all types, from DUII to Aggravated Murder.  From 2002 to 2007, Liane worked at the University of Oregon School of Law as Assistant Dean for Student Affairs.  While there, she created a Forensic Science in the Courtroom course that was extremely popular as well as a Bar Study Course.  In 2007, she returned to the practice of law, this time on the civil side.  Her emphasis was on all types of litigation matters, with a specialty in employment law.   In 2014, Liane began a private practice, focusing on the areas of law that she most enjoys:  litigation, employment law, administrative law and discrimination/civil rights violations.  Liane is a member of the Oregon State Bar, and is licensed to practice law in Oregon, federal court, and the ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Liane also has a background real estate. She has an active real estate license and enjoys working with buyers to help them find the perfect home or piece of property to help them achieve their personal and financial dreams.

Graciela Moreno

Graciela is the paralegal at Clifton Cannabis Law, based in Bend, Oregon. Prior to Clifton Cannabis Law, Moreno was Co-Founder of CannaInvestor Magazine, the first interactive digital publication in the Cannabis sector Moreno designed and developed the outlet which provided insights on market trends and expert advice about cannabis investments.

Before that she was Co-Founder and President of Med-Cannabis Pharma, Inc., a publicly traded cannabis company invested in strategic asset growth through evaluating, financing, and purchasing wholesale medical marijuana cultivation and retail distribution companies. Under Moreno’s guidance Med-Cannabis Pharma boasted a market capitalization of $50+ million dollars by strategic growth execution. Moreno spearheaded operations from concept to three franchise medical marijuana dispensary locations and a cultivation site in eight short months.

Graciela Moreno was recognized as a 2015-2016 ‘Woman of the Year Inductee’ by the National Association of Professional Women. Moreno currently sits on the Board of Directors for Colorado based publicly traded World of Weed Inc.

As a resident of Oregon for over 45 years, Barbara has deep roots in Oregon.  Prior to joining Clifton Cannabis Law as a legal assistant, Barbara served as Director of Customer Service for Sonitrol Pacific, Portland, a Sound Security company.  Barbara’s focus at Sonitrol for twenty-four years was growing long lasting and mutually rewarding business relationships with its clients. This included managing the client customer service team, sales to existing clients and ensuring that each client had the products and services in place that more than met their on-going needs.

Barbara’s experience in the security industry and excellent customer service background, make her a perfect fit at Clifton Cannabis Law where customer service and security are important values for us and our clients.  When not working, Barbara enjoys the beauty of Oregon and spending time with her grandchildren.

Victoria Vertner

Licensed through the California State Bar Association, Victoria Vertner brings a focused passion for advocacy to her work as a business and criminal defense attorney. Leveraging wide-ranging experience in the legal sector, Ms. Vertner currently provides assistance to senior counsel and clients at Clifton Cannabis Law in Bend, Oregon. In this capacity, she assists cannabis entrepreneurs in Oregon and California with licensure and entity formation, facilitating their success in a quickly growing and highly competitive industry.

Ms. Vertner received her Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University in 2011. Prior to completing law school she served as a Legal Assistant and Spanish Interpreter at Vertner & Dell in San Jose, CA and undertook an internship with the Northern California Innocence Project where she reviewed evidence and transcripts in post-conviction claims for habeas corpus. Transitioning into a role as a Facilitator for the law program at Fresh Lifelines for Youth (FLY) in Milipitas, CA, Ms. Vertner taught criminal law to a group of at-risk youth and developed an interest in mentorship, which continues to inform her work today.

In 2013 Ms. Vertner opened a solo practice and chose to focus mainly on criminal cases. Maintaining a firm belief in the positive impact of supportive guidance and rehabilitation, she helped numerous clients overcome challenges associated with poverty, mental illness, and drug use. Ms. Vertner also served as Associate Counsel for Trical, a soil fumigation company, and its affiliated companies. In that capacity she assisted the General Counsel, working on a variety of legal matters including business issues, company policies, contracts, employment law, and regulatory matters. Ms. Vertner returned briefly to solo practice in Palo Alto prior to accepting her present role at Clifton Cannabis Law. She recently relocated to Bend, Oregon and looks forward to building new professional and personal foundations in the beautiful Northwest.
